WTF???

Is it just me or is there something seriously disturbing about this photo (note they are in majority university students).
How about this as a slogan for your next elections: Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer

Photo from almustqbal newspaper's first page which makes it doubly disturbing, not only those students are idiots showing off their ignorance; the newspaper couldn't find any better photo to publish on their first page.

Its not a Nazi salute. I don't know too much about it but I know that when you have to take an oath upon taking a civil or military position (becoming a lawyer, a soldier, a diplomat,etc...) you take an oath to Lebanon in the way depicted above.

So its not specific to one side or party, its a national trait. Whether its a desirable trait or not is questionable!

blacksmith jade,
there is difference betwween putting the hand on towards the head or towards the chest and this salute.
what u r talking about is the salute towards the head.
this salute has been used only by kata2eb, bashir jmayyil and lebanese forces and we know the origin of the idea of kata2eb.
now FM are LF's allies, so don't worry mo, it's the new enlightened orouba ;)

When I said its not a Nazi salute I meant to say that its not solely a Nazi salute.

Its true, this salute was used by the Phalanx and LF, but trust me it has also been used for taking an oath in Lebanon.

If you know anybody who's taken such an oath you can verify with them. Oh and be sure to give them your little line about pointing your hand towards your head or chest so that they don't get confused... :)

And if you're still not convinced, here's a picture of new graduates from Lebanon's Internal Security Forces (ISF) academy taking an oath:
Darak

...I think that pretty much settles it...

whatever pleases you guys, just do not fight over it

let it be, so they were taking an oath in front of hariri's grave swearing to continue what he began

i still feel diturbed when i see this (and even more by hezballah's militant-military).
This salute meant (and still means) both totalitarianism and a lot of hatred; seeing it brandished like that is a little bit frightning, but hey! what would i know, it must be a typical lebanese trait
